Topography
In the Indus Valley, there is variety of terrain; plains, hills, tropical forests and mountain ranges. There were two main rivers, the Indus and the Hakra, and the heart of Indus civilization was on the flood plains of these two rivers.
Natural Resources
India has many natural resources and the people were able to trade them using the Indus River. The land was rich in cotton, lumber, grain, livestock and tea.
Climate
The climate in India was always very warm and they depended on seasonal rain. India had Monsoons, or very heavy rains, which caused flooding and brought in silt that made the soil fertile.
